Puppy Policy
Breeder reserves the right to retain any or all puppies.
Breeder reserves the right to refuse or return a deposit for any reason.
Prospective owners pay a $100 deposit and are added to a waiting list which is comprised of all buyers numbered by the date their deposit is received.
Buyers choose their puppies in this order. This deposit goes towards the final price of the pup.
Deposits are non-refundable, cancellations for any reason will result in a loss of your deposit.
Puppy picks take place after 4 weeks of age, when personalities have begun to develop.
If a buyer does not choose a pup from the litter in which they have reserved a puppy, the buyer has the option to move their deposit to the next litter.
There is NO guarantee about the coat color of the puppies. Please do not overlook a potential pup simply because of it's eye or coat color.
We also cannot guarantee the hearing of a pup over it's lifetime, as hearing ability may decline over time.
Vet checks are not performed until the puppies are 8 weeks old, any health issues that arise will be discussed with the buyer of that puppy.
We will not sell a deaf pup without first informing the prospective owner.
Puppies will be registered with the NALC. by Flatland Catahoulas.
Papers will be signed at pickup, and mailed into the NALC once all pups from the litter have left for their new homes.
The NALC will mail the papers directly to the new owners.
Please remember that a dogs registered name does not have to be the "call name" of your dog. No matter what the registered name, you can call your dog whatever you'd like.
I do not vaccinate my puppies. I do this for multiple reasons.
First, I do have many requests from people who would like to keep their dog vaccine-free for life. I cannot vaccinate some and not others.
Second, 8-week-old puppies would receive their first vaccines close to the time they leave for their new homes.
A vaccination reaction can be masked by motion sickness, or a change in food or water at their new homes.
I urge all new puppy owners to do their research and make a decision on vaccinations that suits their own beliefs and values.
Puppies will be microchipped and undergo 4 weeks of deworming before leaving for their new homes.
In the event that you are unable to keep your Catahoula, for any reason, it must be returned to Flatland Catahoulas to be re-homed, this is stated in the contract that you will be signing prior to taking your puppy home. A Flatland Catahoula should never end up in a rescue or shelter of any kind.
